Our Programs
GROW stands for “Growing with Real Organic Wisdom,” and is an elementary school curriculum and growing experience with raised beds and a Food Forest. Multi-year participants can also learn about food distribution into their community.
Partnering with Turnkey Garden Solutions LLC, we provide turnkey kitchen gardens in underserved neighborhoods which include all the resources they need plus hands-on growing coaching from a Master Gardener.
GROW-TV is our 24/7 online education available through our YouTube Channels. We post our own videos and suggest playlists of other growers we like.
Our programs are creative and innovative.
Our educational programs generate a lasting impact on the State of Georgia by empowering communities with life-long knowledge about how to grow and distribute locally grown food. This fosters food security and community leadership at the grassroots level. Through our school curriculum, hands-on workshops, mentorship, and the establishment of as many food forests as possible, Shaome is equipping individuals with the skills to cultivate resilient, self-sustaining ecosystems, and to teach others how to do the same.
Community Benefits:
- Healthier, Resilient Families – With access to fresh, homegrown food, families reduce reliance on community resources, contributing to better health and reduced healthcare needs.
- Role Modeling Sustainable Living – Gardens serve as visible examples of sustainability, inspiring neighbors to adopt similar practices.
- Strengthened Neighborhood Ties – Gardening fosters collaboration as families share knowledge and resources, enhancing neighborhood connections.
- Local Environmental Improvement – Sustainable practices support local biodiversity.
- Empowerment and Economic Stability – Growing food provides savings, increases self-sufficiency, and inspires a culture of resilience.
- Educational Ripple Effect – Families gain knowledge about food, nutrition, and sustainability that can be shared, raising awareness within the community.
- Increased Greenery and Beautification – Gardens add greenery, beautify spaces, and contribute to neighborhood pride.
The ripple effect of this education will manifest in enhanced environmental stewardship, long-term community health, and a strengthened local food economy, positioning Georgia as a leader in food security.
With rising food costs and disrupted supply chains, fresh produce has become increasingly inaccessible for underserved families, threatening health and financial stability. Limited knowledge of sustainable food-growing practices further reduces long-term food security options, while a lack of eco-friendly gardening practices misses chances to improve local ecosystems. Addressing this need now can prevent health declines, alleviate economic strain, and promote environmental stewardship, offering immediate solutions with lasting impact.
